Chairperson - MJ SieboldMJ has been an animal lover all her life. She graduated from the Animal Health Technician program at NAIT in 1983 & began working at the Lynnwood Veterinary Hospital. In 1990 she, her husband & 2 boys moved back to her hometown of Lac La Biche where they have a small farm, having had pigs, cows, horses & most recently Boer goats! In addition to their small goat herd, they also consider a llama, 3 dogs and a cat as part of the family. She was involved in 4-H both as parent & Veterinary Science Project leader for well over a decade. From the time she was a small girl, she rescued anything that needed help, from birds, to caterpillars to our four legged companion animals. When expecting her first son, her sister said to her “I just can’t picture you with a baby… a litter of puppies for sure though!” She recognized many years ago that there is a desperate need in our region for a Humane Society and so, now that her boys are grown & gone, determined to take the time to establish one in 2014. On October 29, 2014 she was elected as Board Chairperson to the newly incorporated Lac La Biche Regional Humane Society & looks forward to being a part of the solution in ensuring the animals in our region are treated humanely.

Vice Chairperson - Jenna HuffmanJenna is a lifelong resident and grew up on her family’s farm outside of Lac La Biche where her family raised cattle, horses, chickens, rabbits, sheep, the occasional duck, and the many strays that somehow found their way to them. The first rescue in her life was a thin, sad looking stray cat that her father rescued outside ATB Financial when she was a child. This was a moment of kindness that changed her life and her view of how the world should truly treat even the smallest of animals. It would later become unsurprising to her family when, after watching a barn cat play with its food, she saved a mouse and set it free. Many strays and years of furbaby love later, she adopted a cat from the LLBRHS and fell in love. Not only with the new furry addition to her family (who is SO adored!) and not only with the animals through volunteer work, but also with the selfless work of the kind and dedicated people who saved her cat and so many others. It is her hope that she can pay forward the kindness that was taught to her at a young age beside the other board members and volunteers of the LLBRHS.

Secretary - Staci LattimerStaci grew up in southern Ontario. She moved to Lake Louise after finishing her Recreation & Leisure studies and ended up loving Alberta so much she stayed. Staci and her family moved to Plamondon in 2013. Staci has always had a passion and love for animals and has owned dogs and cats her entire life. She currently has 2 dogs and 2 cats. Staci began volunteering for LLBRHS in November 2018 and was shocked at the number of cats and dogs (and litters) coming through the shelter. She has fostered short-term stays for kittens and puppies when the shelter is at capacity. She spent almost a year developing the Spay Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP) to reduce overpopulation and unwanted litters in the LLB region. The SNIP program was implemented in February 2020 and has approved 45 applications to date. Staci has previous board and secretary experience, so when the secretary position became available she jumped at the opportunity (even if it is an interim role). She is excited to be part of the LLBRHS board and looks forward to helping more animals in our community!

Treasurer - Nancy LitzenbergerNancy moved to Lac La Biche 17 years ago with a husband, three dogs and two house cats. She has been involved with purebred dogs, showing in conformation and obedience since 1990. She is a member of the Collie Club of Canada and the Collie Club of America and is currently owned by two Smooth Collies.
Nancy is excited to be a part of the new Lac La Biche Regional Humane Society. |
Director at Large - Erline HarmseErline is the proud momma of three human girls and four furry babies. She has always loved cats and has rescued and adopted strays. When she was young she fed orphaned kittens throughout the night and guilted vets into helping her save owner-less cats. If she could adopt every cat in need of a home, or at least find them one with someone else she would be very happy. She loves all animals of every shape and size....except snakes! Snakes are on their own!
Erline hopes she can make a big difference with the LLBRHS (without shedding too many tears or sending bad karma thoughts to animal abusers!) and is excited to be a part of this great initiative! |
Director At Large - Maggie WorthingMaggie is originally from the Toronto area in Ontario. She has always been involved with animals, begging to take riding lessons at age 8, bringing home guinea pigs from school because no one wanted to care for them. She has always had a cat, dog or horse as a pet since then.
Maggie is returning to the Board after a year off although she helped with the Shelter Renovations as well as participating in Fundraising Events. |

Director at Large - Christina WacChristina is originally from Calgary. She moved to Vancouver to complete her Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and subsequently moved to Lac La Biche in 2018 to work as a librarian. She has been a self-proclaimed ‘cat-lady’ all her life (she even chose to get a cat over a trip to Disneyland when she was a child and had the same cat for 21 years!). Christina is a regular cat volunteer and especially likes to spend time socializing the shy cats in the shelter. She began volunteering for LLBRHS in 2020, and later fostered and adopted her current cat. She has previous board and research experience and is excited to work alongside the other board members!
